Sickness
/ Absence Management & Home Visits.
Some
of our members have complained that they are being harangued
by management for being unfortunate enough to be sick.
Despite following the reporting sick procedure, members have
been telephoned at home and threatened with formal measures
when they return. This only adds to the members stress and
worries and certainly doesn’t contribute to their well
being.
The UDW views this as totally unacceptable, and will invoke the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (among other legislation)
to stop this practice.
If you are phoned at home after reporting sick, note the name
of the person calling you, the date and time, inform them
that you are ending the call, and contact us Here. Try to note what they say to you but do not reply or get into
conversation with them. They have no right to call you at
home as you are on sick leave and have already reported this
to your branch in line with company procedures.
Once you have ended the call please contact any of your UDW
officials.
If you are informed that management are going to visit you
at home, please get in touch with us immediately. You are
entitled to, and must insist on a representative being present.

Question
to mailroom... May 2006
I
have been told that i have not been performing enough with
my prp target of 49...I always take out more than my bencmark,
but i was told by my section manager that PRP means clearing
my run every day. Surely this is wrong. Could you verify this
for me, as he said he would take me off of it if i don't comply.
It makes you feel a bit threatened of your job...Bit like
bullying.....Thanks Anon.
To
Anon with the 49 benchmark,
Can
you please contact any of the senior reps for assistance as
soon as possible. Your manager cannot remove your PRP entitlement
while putting unreasonable workloads onto you. We would contact
you directly but you have left no contact details. Please
get in touch Here.
If
you have any questions that you'd like answered post your
question Here
